Brussels, Belgium — ISACA, the global association advancing individuals and organisations in the pursuit of digital trust, proudly announces its participation in LEAD-PRO, a pioneering Horizon Innovation Action project focused on enhancing disaster management capabilities through advanced AI technology. With the support of ISACA and its credentials training, the project aims to transform how law enforcement agencies (LEAs) across Europe prepare for and respond to crises.
Involvement in this initiative, under the European Commission’s strategy, represents ISACA's commitment to using cutting-edge technology to strengthen disaster prevention and response across Europe. As part of its long-standing support for the EU Pact for Skills, ISACA is dedicated to advancing efforts in bridging the EU skills gap in the digital and cybersecurity sectors. By offering ISACA credentials training, the LEAD-PRO project extends training opportunities to a wider audience, improving the cybersecurity skillset of participants and contributing to a stronger European cybersecurity front.
The project, coordinated by Mr. Albert Algans from NUUK AI, focuses on developing advanced AI-driven tools for LEAs to upgrade their skills and capabilities in managing disaster events effectively. ISACA's involvement underscores its dedication to fostering innovation in digital trust and governance within critical sectors.
Chris Dimitriadis, Chief Global Strategy Officer at ISACA, stated: "Through our participation in the LEAD-PRO project, we are not only contributing to creating even more digitally-savvy law enforcement agencies but also fostering a culture of innovation -- through the safe adoption of emerging technologies -- collaboration and knowledge sharing among European partners. This initiative is crucial for adapting to evolving challenges in disaster management, ultimately safeguarding communities and ensuring a more resilient future."
The project addresses urgent needs highlighted by recent events, such as the flooding disaster in Valencia, Spain. LEAD-PRO focuses on developing AI solutions for real-time data analysis, enhancing training for LEAs, and promoting collaboration among European law enforcement agencies.
Mr. Albert Algans from NUUK AI commented: "LEAD-PRO is pioneering the integration of IoT and AI to transform disaster management. By developing vision-enabled technologies and intelligent decision-making systems, we are equipping law enforcement agencies with tools that enhance situational awareness and operational efficiency. This project not only addresses immediate challenges but also sets a new standard for proactive disaster response across Europe."
